Homemade Cheese Crackers

So I tried my hand at homemade cheese crackers as we’ve all been sick in this house and we needed a little early evening activity to keep us sane and happy!

I have to say they turned out pretty well and made a lovely little activity for Poppy and I. They make a great little addition to lunch times.

6 Ounces Cheddar Cheese, shredded
1/4 Cup Butter cut into pieces
3/4 Cup Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Kosher Salt
1/4 Teaspoon Garlic Salt
1 Tablespoon Milk

Step 1 – Preheat your oven to 350 degrees

Step 2 – Shred your Cheddar Cheese if it’s in block form (or buy it preshredded)

Step 3 – Using a food processor, pulse the cheese, butter, flour, salt, pepper and garlic into coarse crumbs

Step 4 – Add your milk and process until a ball forms (I have to add a dribble more milk sometimes)

Step 5 – Roll our the dough on a floured surface so that it’s 1/8 inch thick, cut into 1 inch squares

Step 6 – Place the crackers on a well greased baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes or until the just start to brown. Store in an airtight container.
